Hi, has anyone fitted a usb in spare blank plug in the centre console next to the heated screen button.

Seen on ebay which a usb & a 3.5mm jackplug. I would like to add this so that i can charge ip from usb & use 3.5mm jackplug for aux in ford radio in my 2010 focus titanium.i know their is a aux in 3.5mm pin in the glovebox.but it means trailing aux cable thru or squash cable in glovebox lid.

    Hi Yunii,

    As far as i am aware in regards to these units,

    They have a standard usb socket and 3.5mm phono socket on the front,

    The black switch is to power on the USB from the compatable stereo.

    Now inside the interface it has a micro USB cable plug and a male 3.5mm headphone plug.

    They are primarily designed to function with the 7" Android based touch screen stereos that are also available from China,

    I've heard two stories on Focusownersclub.com back in 2012 regarding them catching fire however no images to back up these claims leading me to believe such claims are purely speculation although buying from China there are no guarantees buyers risk.

    The Ford supplied Sony Stereo doesn't have a 3.5mm Phono socket or a Micro USB socket at the rear,

    However the Blaupunkt satnav model may have these interfaces at the rear but I'm not very confident that it would to be honest.
