Hi all,

Ford don't manufacture mud flaps for the Mk2 or Mk2.5 Focus ST, RS or ZetecS body,

So here's a guide on how to make your own factory look set that will last a lifetime.

You need to purchase a set of these exact flaps:

Then you need to make up a little bracket,

Now you can use two 2p coins for this, all your doing is bridging the existing screw,

Let me explain:

The below image shows the rear wheel arch with top and bottom factory screw in place,

The top screw will go through the bracket, while the second hole will grip the custom mud flap to the bracket allowing the wide flap to sit tidy,

Bottom factory screw also drill through custom flap insert factory screw through flap in to factory hole

See here little bracket fitted,

Lower factory screw also fitted gripping the flap tight:

Repeat process on passenger side rear arch,

Now for the front flaps fitting...

See markings in image below,

A small plate is fitted to the top factory scew,

This plate sits between the arch and mud flap to keep the flap flush with the side skirt.

The screws supplied with the universal flaps are 3/32

This is the reason you need to use a 3/32 drill bit when adding additional pilot holes,

The measurements marked out on the skirt:

160mm

And

Inwards 12mm

This exact location is a hollow cavity within the side skirt,

You can safely drill in to the skirt end cap securing the mud flap without making contact with any metal of the car.

Fitted over two years now, still like the first day fitted,

My cars lowerd 35mm ST ride height no issues scraping flaps atall.

Even picked up an aero wrapper which i thought was funny since the flaps themselves are quite lite,

Sa a post where a member was seeking flaps for his ST so figured id post the info up to help otheres aswell.

Standard Genuine flaps are best if you don't have side skirts or rear diffuser fitted mate,

Mine came with a standard set and they are a great fit and actually pretty easy to remove when needed.

I am thinking of adding these to my car, got a quick question. In my pic the the ones that are highlighted green are they both drilled or just the one nearest to the outside on the car?

The one highlighted in blue where the bracket is attached does that screw go right into the wheel arch

Hi Kyle,

The green circles are rivets holding a retangular metal bracket that is built inside the structure of the mud flap,

There nothing to do with install 👍

The existing rear wheel arch screw goes through the centre of this metal bracket that is built inside the flap making it very shock resident against impact from road dirt or debree

The one highlighted blue;

Yes the screw goes through the little bracket and through the plastic wheel arch,

Please note: the plastic of the wheel arch is very thin

the bracket supports the flap in place and is required since the wheel arch is very thin plastic much like the trays from tin of victoria biscuits.

I have mine now fitted four years and still 100% 👌

No holes are drilled in to metal body atall

The front flap holes are drilled in to the plastic end cap of the side skirts.
