what do members recommend to clean alloys and what wax to protect them

For a big 6 monthly clean. Autosmart smart wheels, then tardis, then auto finesse iron out. Then mint rims to seal and regular washes with your usual soap of choice. As long as it is wax/sealant friendly of course!

Sure Paul. I take my wheels off twice a year for a proper clean front and back of the wheels.

Smart wheels is a strong wheel cleaner. It gets rid of all the brake dust that has been missed during routine washing.

Tardis is a solvent cleaner. It literally melts tar and strips any leftover old wax.

Iron out is a fallout remover. It dissolves inorganic contaminants. Those stubborn yellow/Orange dots that refuse to come off, dissolve in no time.

Wheels are then squeaky clean for applying the fresh wax. I do 2 layers on the back, 3 on the front and its still there in 6 months time.

Then gyeon tire on the tyres to finish the job. It lasts 12 weeks with 2 layers.

could not wait for amazon/bliss just purchased from local halfords " wonder wheels alloy/and wax for alloys got rears done today feck where they dirty first time probably cleaned since car was built

I've heard some horror stories about wonder wheels eating alloys....

You should stick up some pictures of them finished.

Tardis and iron out are fantastic decontamination products. They are excellent for your paint as well. If you use them twice a year, you might only need some spot clay barring. Saves massive amounts of time and effort.
