Engine Cover

Featured Replies

Hi all just wondering if my car should have a engine cover. If so where can I get a cheap one from please. My car is 1.6 tdci lx on a 56 plate.

One like this may fit:

Focus 1.6 engine cover

I think you may also need clips if they are not already on the engine itself.

I'm currently looking one for my 1.6 zetec mk2.5 focus. I think it tidies the engine up well when one is installed.

Hope this helps.

no that cover is for the 1.8 tdci not 1.6

Have a word with Lenny.

He fitted a cover to his 1.6 and can best point you in the right direction.

sorry fellas My bad

I was thinking of a 1,8 for some reason.

I think the 1.6 has two engine covers that are available an old style One from a pre facelift and a face lift one from I think the c-max versions. (I could be wrong on this though).

Here are some pics

Old Style cover 1.6tdci

New facelift style cover 1.6tdci

They do both look very similar but I think the mounting screws/bolts are different for each one. I think the one Lenny used at the time he did his was the face lift one but his focus is 2010 so it may of suited his car better.

I don't think any of the 1.6tdci mk2.5 form 2008 - 2010 had them fitted but the old pre facelift ones do fit I far as I remember. Lenny also got his all painted up which does look great.

Here is Lenny's engine cover

I will try to source out his thread where I think he also posted Part numbers that may be of use.

Hope this helps. :)

Found the thread.

Here is the link

Hope this is of help to you sir. :)

Its hard to tell what mine would be like but not seen it so not sure. Might take trip to scrappy to see what can find. Mine does have the ball fixings there. Really like what lenny has done to his.

  • 2 months later...

With the 1.6 petrol Ford stopped fitting covers about 2005. The brass captive nuts are still there but covers are not available. I had one new and when I asked the dealer even they did not know and had to contact 'head office' to find out.
