Driver Door Locking

The drivers side door handle will not push in, locking all the doors when driving. It has a lot of resistance any ideas or is it broken and in need of repair. Important as I often drive alone at night.

    Hi Shirley, when you lock the car by the remote or the door, does it lock the drivers door?

    I had the door rod snapped on mine, so I just couldnt open the door, it could be a syymptom that yours is on its way out,
