    It's for the optional passenger airbag deactivation switch.

    (The glovebox chiller function is just a pipe and a twist vent that fits to the left side of the inner glovebox casing)

    Yes as far as I know.

    To make it work you need the switch and the warning light which goes into the far left blank position on the demister switch panel.

    It also needs activating by a dealer but they will only do this if you sign a disclaimer form.
