Think Nav updates (for maps not firmware) are done via updated DVD's, which are expensive.

For the audio system Ford used to have a website where you downloaded a zip file with latest software then updated via USB stick (assuming you've got USB port on car) but think the site isn't running now. Try googling Ford audio connectivity update, failing that you may be able to get files off a member - they don't take up a lot of memory.

Thanks troy45 I rang fords today re update DVD and they told me to buy an old fashioned map and use that as they never heard of dvd update

My car does not have usb and was wondering if any other members had tried to update via aux cable or is there a connection on back of stereo before I take it out and destroy my dash. I googled ford connect and have the update to nov 2012 but can't find a way to apply

Thanks

Wow! that's what I call excellent customer service

Not quite found the info on an update disc yet but Ford did offer updates for the lower spec Nav system so can't see why they wouldn't do the same for the full screen system. Think they sent out a CD which you then either put in the unit or onto the SD card via PC. Does appear that a lot of dealers weren't aware of the update discs so maybe same applies with DVD's.

Know with the system used on X-Type/Mondeo the DVD's were updated annually but was still a 2 year delay between starting the update and customers getting cars with that level of DVD. Would surprise me if Ford took the hit with one disc covering several years production.
