Jerky Acceleration On C Max 1.8L Petrol 2004

Featured Replies

Ford C Max 1.8L 2004. On normal/moderate acceleration the
car drives smoothly. If I accelerate a little harder, 2,500+ rpm in second,
3,000+ in third etc, the car judders and acceleration is not smooth. Feels a
little like dirty petrol but not sure if that is the case.

Have tried to accelerate through the issue to try and clear
it but that has not worked.

Any ideas?

Ian

I have had a similar problem with my mk2 focus with the 1.8 duratec engine. I found unplugging the egr valve has helped. So I fitted a blanking plate.
