Mrk 1 Ford Focus Steering Problem

I have a 99 reg Ford Focus and my problem is my steering is stif it clunks when I try and turn it right or left you can feel it all through the car and hear it please can someone help as the garage said its fine

I also have this issue, did you find out what it was? My steering isn't stiff but when you wiggle the wheel left and right you can feel it knock as if the rack is hitting something

Have you checked the fluid? Could need either a top up or changing, also inspect the pipe work, especially around the cooler, notorious split point there. Otherwise the rack itself could be on it's way out.

I have a new rack it's only 3 months old it done the noise from day one
