Ford Focus Tdci Starting Issue When Engine Is Warm.

Featured Replies

I have an issue with my Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI estate 2008. It will start fine when the engine is cold, however when the engine is warm it will intermittently struggle to start! (Sometimes over 30 seconds of cranking) I have taken it to a ford garage and they have role me there were no diagnostic codes when the vehicle was hooked up.

Has anyone seen this issue before? I have also noticed that when the car is warm and I am trying to start it, during this cranking the RPM needle will do a little dance before it starts, not sure if that would be relevant.

Any info would be great

Thanks

Sounds like a crankshaft sensor.

Fox world, thanks for the reply. Where is the crank shaft sensor on the engine? I have found them online and there not that expensive, looks easy to replace.

Is there any way I can test the current crank shaft sensor fitted to my focus?
