Travelpilot Software Update + Bt Streaming

Featured Replies

Hi,

I apologise for the long first post but I want to make sure I give the background on everything I have tried so far…

I have a 2008 Yitanium X. (10/2008 build). A few months ago I upgraded from a Sony DAB
unit to a TravelPilot FX from a 2009 Mondeo. Works perfect, no issues.

My next upgrade has been to get USB/BT Streaming. I've replaced my 8M5T-19G488-AK
with a 8M5T-19C112-AR module. I have plugged in a standard mini-USB to USB female cable

Once I powered my radio back on I was able to pair my phone again and within Convers+
I could see:iPod, USB and Line in. I used ELMConfig to update the BT Module to BT/VC high + BT Audio + USB (For navigation only). It didn’t seem to take straight away but the next morning when I started the car I could also see BT Audio in Convers+, although the headunit still only showed iPod, USB and Line In.

BT Audio is lit in Convers+ when my phone is connected but when I try to select it even though music is playing on my phone the Audio jumps straight back to Radio.

Looking at previous discussions I had when I first installed the Sat Nav unit my software version is quite old so my thoughts are that this is causing the problem.

I did try to upgrade when I first installed it but as I had no issues I left it as is. I downloaded an
ISO with SP4.1 and burnt this to a CD. I confirmed the disc is finalised and when I browse the CD from my PC I can see the folder structure, however when I insert the disk nothing happens, it just
says it’s not a music cd. I had the same issue in this post but never investigated further as it wasn't causing me any issue at the time.

I've been researching further on the Software Update. Because I'm on such an old version I don't have a download update option in the Advanced Menu.

I've read on a dutch focus forum of other people having the same issue when on this older version and apparently the steps below worked for them:

Turn on Ignition

Eject SD Card.

Insert Original CD

System will ask if you want to run navigation from this, say yes

Eject CD insert SP4.1 CD

Update begins

Has anyone on the older version had to do this? Did it work?

Does anyone have an original disk ~2008 Maps that they could upload as an ISO that I could attempt the process with?

I've tried ejecting the SD card and putting the SP4.1 disk in but nothing happens.

Any help/feedback provided is appreciated

Thanks

Adam
