Ford Focus Ghia Engine Heat Up

Featured Replies

hi guys

just bought my ford focus ghia 2005, 1.6 petrol...the problem is that engine do not heat up to normal temperature even then I driving 20 miles by motorway. when I am driving in the city so it start heat up,but have to drive a lot...is it thermostat? hot wind is flowing but indicator shows that motor is cool...I found crack on Header Tank Radiator Expansion Tank and liquid liking threw it.

and is it normal that my focus tooks about 9l fuel?

first job would be to replace the header tank as you will be losing pressure in the system, if you are still having problems then i would check the thermostat first as it sounds like it could be stuck.

remember the dash shows coolant not engine temperature

I'd expect it to overheat with cracked tank being as waterflow would be restricted due to low pressure ?
