Car Charger Question

Featured Replies

Hiya guys,

You will see from this picture that I have run the AUX cable through the dash and through the vent to neatly place it next to my brodit phone mount.

I use a 12v car charger for my phone and I'm wanting to do a similar thing with that. Is it a case of buying some kind of 12v input and hooking it up in the glovebox out of the way?

I was also wondering what affect constantly leaving a 12v charger in would have on the car or the charger too?

Hope you can help :)

you should have the switched electrical sockets, so as long as you wire into the 12v it should go off after that.

I cheated, and I just plugged a motorbike 12v into the existing wiring for the 12v. took me about 10 minutes to connect and secure it, then I ran the cable under the centre console and have a 4 way switch there powering a few different devices. Took about one hour to do a fill and thorough install and cost me about £3 in total. that way its switched 12v.
