Had to change battery in key fob this week. Now central locking with fob is not working. Tryed re- programming but still no joy. central locking works when i use key and when I use fob, the lights flash and i can hear clicking noise but the locks are not budging. What could the issue be ?

When you program the fobs do you get the bleeping ?

yes....but still no joy

Step 1

Enter your Ford vehicle and close the door.

Step 2

Slide the ignition key attached to the Ford key fob into the ignition.

Step 3

Turn the key on and off eight times (do not start the car), leaving the key in the "On" position after the eighth turn. The doors of your Ford will lock and unlock to show that the vehicle is in programming mode.

Step 4

Press one of the key fob buttons within 20 seconds to program the key fob. The doors of the vehicle will lock. When they do, hit the unlock button to verify that the key fob is programmed.

5.

Step 5

Remove the key from the ignition and repeat the procedure for each Ford key fob you need to program.

I'm sure you would have done this, I had the same problem but managed to get it sorted. I think timing is the key ( no pun intended) lol
