Featured Replies

my escort mk6 failed it mot yesterday and the garage cant find a new part and ford dont make it any more can anyone help it one of the power steering hoses part number 60ab3a719ba can anyone help really want to get my car back on the road

I have a prowersteering pipe here, the one that goes from the pump to the steering rack between the header tanks and the cambelt, if that's what you need. I found out a few years ago that there are 2 different versions with different unions. It may be down to year model, mines a '98, but if you could post a photo I can confirm if I have the one you need or not.

Just quickly took some photos for you. The pipes are alloy so don't worry about rust marks on the pipe.

The end that connects to the steering rack.

The 2 pin pressure switch in case that's what differs.

unfortunately they changed the fittings this is the right pipe but it wont fit the 2000 model but thanks for your help MEX1

Hopefully you can find one at a local scrappy, at least you know which is the right one now. Alternativley you could get your existing one repaired. In the end I took mine to a local company and they replaced the section of split pipe. I think it cost about £40 but the job was good quality with new fittings either end of the replaced hose.

I found a company based in Sussex that will repair the hose but there may be another company nearer if this place isn't convenient.
