Auto Locking Doors When Drving Off? (Mk 2.5)

Featured Replies

Anyone know if it is possible to get my MK 2.5 Zetec to lock my doors automatically when setting off?

my old car did it, and I would like my Focus to do it as well, as I keep forgetting to do it manually..

any way to enable this feature or a cheap way to get it done?

Thanks

yup, need to use elmconfig with a modified elm327

thanks guys no idea what this elm etc are ?

is that a thing to plug into the ODC port or something?

are they cheap to buy or can I take the car somewhere to get this done?

get one of these

http://www.spanglefish.com/TunnelratElectronics/

and download the attached

put it on a laptop and follow the directions from the website to setup and install the adaptor

once your up and running you can make all sorts of changes, but word of warning, make sure you save a copy of the settings on each page before you go poking about...just incase :)

and yeah it used the obd port

ELMConfig.zip

Thanks Dee

so what else can this little black box do? thanks again

EDIT/

Can you check that it downloads for you ? it seems corrupted, tried to download it twice, thnks

Read and reset DTCs

Use with http://forscan.org

to help with diagnosis

I have started doing monthly runs with it so I have a back log of recorded data, was really helpful when I last went to a garage and a temp sensor stopped working afterwards, having the data help me prove it was working before they messed with it

you can also use elmconfig to change all sorts of cool settings, there is too much to go in to just now but if you open the software just now, change it to English, then change connection to focus, then click on offline, it will show you all the things it can do... so of which wont work mind because it may been other hardware, but some does, like door locking :)

handy piece of kit the above item on my christmas wish list :driving:

paul

updated file the it must have got corrupted but seems fine now, sorry about that
