Automatic Not Automatic When In Sports Mode

Featured Replies

I have a petrol automatic Ford Focus 2011. The question is does the car stay in automatic mode when I move the stick over to S (sport) mode as long as I don't + or - it? Mine is completely manual when in S mode. Do I have a problem or is this as it should be?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave, your owners guide that came with your car should tell you how to use the sport mode on your car.

Hi Dave, just looked in my owners guide, it says the car must be at standstill before you put it into manual and you have 2 gears, and it will change on its own, and if you tap the lever back (+) it will use all gears up, tap forward (-) to go down gears.

Thanks for your reply Alan. Yes I have looked in the manual and it says it should be auto until you + or - it but I asked the person I bought it of said that model doesn't do that, he said its manual when you move the stick over to S mode.
