What Make Of Filter?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was looking through the Euro Car Parts website to get a full set of filters - there seems to be a sale on at the moment as everyting looks to be reduced, but not sure how genuine that is.

I normally just take what I get given over the counter at the local motor factors, but EuroCarParts have a wide range of different makes such as Crossland, Bosch and Mann. Is there much of a difference between them in terms of quality to justify the price differences or are they all much of a muchness? I see some people saying to buy quality, but its not obvious what is quality and what isn't just from awebsite. For info, I try to change the oil at least every 10k miles and clean out the air filter between changes.

I tend to stick mainly with Bosch and Mann filters. I have used crossland in the past and no problems to report.

I've used Mann on my car and Crosland on my ex-girlfriends car. No problems with mine or hers. The Mann filter did feel a little heavier than the Crosland though (and about the same as the Ford filter).

My first oil change used a Ford filter. This time I researched it a little bit more. As far as I could tell there are only a handful of factories actually manufacturing filters for dozens of brands.

If you're servicing it regularly with OEM spec parts (which isn't too difficult to achieve when purchasing parts from respected retailers) then I don't see what difference it makes.

I don't know if all ford service items are made by Bosch but certainly some of them are

I believe, for a while at least, Mann made Bosch filters lol

Thanks guys, I'll look to get Mann or Bosch in preference as they are not that much more than Crossland.
