Hi all, looking for a bit of advice please...

Been running for a while with engine systems warning light on and lack of power, had a diagnostic today and the nice mechanic said I have a problem with fuel injector number 4- his machine couldn't be more specific than that and with being rather short of cash for further expensive diagnostics I was wondering if there are some obvious things I could be looking for myself? Obviously if it comes to it I will have to throw more money at it for diagnostics but I'm hoping there are a list of things I could maybe try first?

    Presumably he used a basic diagnostic scanner, which will have given a code. Do you happen to know what the code was?

    He didn't give me the code and just text him now he can't remember the specific code other than is related to a fault on injector number 4. He is a mobile mechanic who has a fair bit of kit but no idea if his diagnostic scanner is basic sorry...
