brand spanking new cable , when i press the aux button i get 2 options line in and bt audio cant see any of my music on screen and when i played the ipod i got the very very faintest sound

Turn the volume up on the i pod to max you can then control the rest from the head unit the wuality is poor though

If you are using the AUX input of the radio there is no information on the radio screen. This is technically impossible because the AUX input is just an audio input channel. It is not possible to receive audio information or to control the music source using the AUX input.

A bad sound quality of the AUX input can be caused by several things. A bad quality AUX cable is known to cause a bad sound quality. Not all external audio sources are suitable to connect to the AUX input of the Ford Audio systems. On some Ipods for example the headphone connection is not amplified enough which results in a very weak input signal to the radio. This can usually be solved by using a docking cable. Using a docking cable will result in a much stronger (more pre-amplified) audio signal.

If you want the music information of the Ipod to be shown on the radio screen and want full control of the Ipod from the radio buttons you have to connect the Ipod using the USB connection.
