5000Rds Radio Code - Changing Battery

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

The battery on the Focus (2000 1.8 Petrol LX) is starting to get very weak and I want to replace it before it ends up flat one morning, but the only problem I have is that the original manuals for the car were never transferred to us upon taking over ownership and I don't want to end up locking the radio without knowing the code.

Aside from hooking up a battery booster to the clamps (which I can't do as I don't own one and don't want/can't afford to buy one just for this purpose) is there any way to change the battery without losing the radio code? Or alternatively, to find out what the code is before disconnecting the battery?

I know I am clutching at straws here but I am in a dilemma as I know that I need to get that battery changed ASAP but don't want to end up with a non-functioning radio.

P.S. It goes without saying, but I won't be putting the car to a mechanic to pay £70-80 for a new battery when I can do it myself for £40!

search the internet for the code, plenty of sites out there giving them free now.

got my last 3 cars radio codes on line for £1 donation or so (last one twice as I lost the paper I wrote it down on!) just google radio codes, I think the donation I paid was optional.

Hi, Is your radio (M. Series type) that means the serial No starts with M
