Ford 6000 Cd Player Bluetooth Installation

Featured Replies

Hi lads,

My girlfriend has a 2006 Ford Focus LX with the 6000 CD Player and wondering if it's possible to install bluetooth on this or has anyone done this?

I know that going through the menu on this cd system that there is an option for bluetooth, or at least an option named BT which I imagine is bluetooth.

Is it as simple as getting a bluetooth module and plugging it into the back of the radio to enable this option or what's involed?

Thanks in advance for any help

The Bluetooth (BT) menu of the radio is only shown if there is a Bluetooth/Voice control module connected to the radio. If there is no module connected the Bluetooth menu is hidden.

If your radio has the Bluetooth menu this would suggest that the car already has Bluetooth support. The presence of the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system can also be recognised by the radio stalk remote with VOICE button and the microphone which is installed into the interior light frame.

The Focus MK2 has the old Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system. It is not possible to update this system and in my opinion it is outdated. Some newer phones will have compatability issues with this system. If the car has this sytem and everything works it is a nice feature but personally I would not bother to retrofit this system. An aftermarket Bluetooth carkit (like a Parrot for example) will be cheaper and has better functionality.

Thanks for the response, thought it would be just a simple case of a BT module but obviously not.

You've saved me alot of time !Removed! around with it to see if it could be done, going to go down the root of a Parrot bluetooth instead
