Fiesta Mk6 1.4 Missfiring, Ok When Cold But When Its Warm Very Hesitant Fault Codes Inside

Featured Replies

Hi folks new to the forum picked up a wee fiesta silver edition last night as spares or repairs.

When i first got it, it sounded like it was only running on 2 cyclinders ( drove it home 35miles on the baypass, couldnt get it out of 4th lol).

Anyway was a long drive home rarley going over 60 downhill.

Got it in the garage today to try sort out the missfire, i did alot of googling last night on these little cars missfiring and did see it was quite common for water to gather around the sparkplugs, this is what i found when i first removed the airbox.

I removed all the water from here and made sure it was all dry before removing the spark plugs them selfs and giving them a clean.

With the engine running removing leads 1 & 2 made no diffrence so went and bought a set of new leads and a set of spark plugs, fitted these but also made no diffrence so went and bought a new coil, its alot better now and starts up on all 4.

Its ok on very light acceleration but too much and it will start kangarooing and holding back, i did noticed what sounds like air escaping from the fuel line connector on the fpr, it also felt very loose compared to the return pipe , put some plumbers tape on it and it seems to have solved that issue.

I have scanned it again since and is coming up with 5 fault codes i pretty much understand what they mean but any help would be great, im also wondering if the lambda sensor faults are only coming up because it is missfiring?

P.s hope to meet some nice folks on here :)

Fault codes .........

They're probably old codes relating to the misfire issues. Clear them all and go for a run, check if any come back up.
