Fuel Flap Not Locking With Central Locking ??

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Any body any ideas where i should start looking for faults to get the fuel flap locking ??

Focus Estate 1.8tdi 2008

If its got easy fueling then it wont have a lock, or does it have convetional screw on cap under flap?

Do you not have to double click the keyfob or something ?

If it's facelift with easy fuel they leave the little latch retainer on the flap but where the locking mechanism should be there's a blank.

I think it anti siphon and you can't put anything in there without the Ford filler pipe.

It puzzled me at first, however, it's still more secure than a plastic lock really.

Thanks guy's, comments have helped !

I was led to believe it should lock with cental locking, seems weird that it does'nt lock and there is no locking cap on filler pipe, so it couldnt be siphoned unless you had the right diesel sized nozzle to stick in.

Yes my pre facelift Focus has a cap on it and the petrol filler door locks, but the ST is facelift is easy fuel. door dosnt lock.

Its the easy fueling thing cant syphone out and you cant even pour anything in either lost a bottle of redex finding out poured straight onto the floor underneath

thats what the emergency fuel filler adapter is for that is supplied with every car, small neck one for petrol and thicker one for diesel

I've got the focus style, will have to aquire an adaptor pipe as well just in case.

The car had been stripped, at least i was left with a steering wheel.

If it was supplied with the car the previous owner must have kept it to use as a shewee or summing lol, Need to go and get one just in case
