Focus 1.6Tdci Battery Light

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had my battery light come on the other day so I got a new battery, when I pop to the petrol station I had to jump it to start (only 1 mile away, and the old battery was still in) so I changed it last night for the new one. Had a couple of problems with the C90 connector but got it going again this morning. When the car started the battery light went out but can back on after a short distance. Once the car was warm and kept above 2000rpm it went out again. I checked the alternator belt and all connections and they look fine.

Could this just be the battery "bedding in" or is it more likely my alternator going?

Cheers in advance for all your help!

Needs checking properly before fitting a new alternator, wiring checks first .
