Green Cotton Air Filter

Featured Replies

Hello,

Has anyone used a green cotton air filter on their diesel focus? If so can you tell me your experiences please? I can't really justify paying £55 for an air filter if its not gonna be much different from the standard paper one.

Thanks :)

If in doubt... Flat Out!!

hi mate,

check the focus guides as Lenny has the green cotton filter fitted to his tdci and recommends them

without remapping the car you wont feel much difference but the car will breathe better.

Brill, thanks mate :)

I have a K&N Filter in my 2.0TDCi, as above you don't feel any major performance differences put I do find the engine runs a tad smoother with it.....also as I have had it now for about 4 years each time I have a service they knock off the cost of replacing the paper one (about £20) so this alone has meant its paid for itself.

Mine made my run smoother and reduced the turbo spool time a fraction as well. The throttle response was bit better too.

I had been looking into getting one a these a few months ago as well. Reading the review Lenny put up it was very encouraing.

In the end I went with a K & N filter, ended up being about 35euro cheaper, engine still runs smoother with it.

I'd say the green cotton filter would be of better quality than the K & N, but whether you can justify the differernce in price or not is really up to you :)

I've got the K&N too, as said mine felt smoother, and slightly better throttle response. :)
