Turbo Whoosh - Split Hose

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

No doubt heavily discussed so I'll cut to the chase.

Noticed a whooshing noise when the turbo kicks in; I've checked all the usual hoses for leaks but can't find any to speak of!

I managed to catch the noise on video. You have to turn the volume up quite high but after my foot comes off the accelerator you can hear a squeak.

Can anyone point me in any direction as to the hoses I should be checking please?

Cheers :)

Look along this hose-

It looks like this for reference and can be split or cracked anywhere but usually underneath-

Thanks Clive, I'll have a look when I get home this afternoon :)

Hi, The one that Clive says is the most common one to go, there are also two pipes at the bottom, you need to remove the under cover, so that you can check them.. :)

Thanks Alan. As Clive suggested I rechecked the aforementioned pipe. Had the whole unit out but there were definitely no splits or leeks there. Must be another pipe will will get under and have a good look later!

The pipe Stoney is referring to was the culprit on my car. It split on the top side. Hopefully you'll track it down soon.
