Scratching Noise When Pulled Onto Kerb

Pulled onto a kerb today and heard a scratching noise, so I guessing a part of the car hit the kerb. Had a look on the underside but can't see any damage. Only thing I could see was a small dark patch on the bigger part of the exhaust. I ran my hand over it though and it doesn't feel any different, just looks darker. Anything to be worried about there?

Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for under the car? Is this a common problem for Fiestas?

    More than likely your tyre rubber hitting the curb, or if it was a big kerb, the bumper scuffing it?
