Medium Wave Interference

Hi , up until a week ago my radio was working fine , but now all of a sudden I get horrible interference on medium wave fm seems ok tho , I am guessing it is due to some sort of suppressing breaking down ? does anyone know how to fix this problem , and do I have to take the radio out on my maverick xlt to remedy it ? thanks for any advice on this ?
