Noise From Nsf On Slow Right Hand Turns

Featured Replies

2008 1.8 TDCI: when making a tight 90 degree right turn at slow speed (5 to 15 mph) I get a noise like the tyre is scrubbing. Only does it within the first mile or so of driving. No scrubbing of tyre tread found, wear is even, 4 wheel alignment done, CV joints checked and Ok (no noises when turning tight circles -unless done within first mile or so). Suspension bushes checked and antiroll bar.

I am thinking that it is the top strut mount, some time ago when maneuvering it felt as though the spring is winding up then 'springing' back but this stopped happening. The noise on turning started a few months later.

Are the top mountings prone to wear and are my symptoms typical of wear.

Many thanks

Alan
