Speed Bump Caught On St 180

Featured Replies

This was a bit scary earlier today, leaving Sweet Street car park in Leeds I noticed they had put in new speed bumps which are the spring loaded kind, so you can only go over them one way. I saw another car go over them no problem, and here's my attempt:

I think it sounds worse than it is, probably just caught on the plastic bit under the front bumper. I couldn't see any damage under the car anyway, but thought it was taking all the paint off my side skirts at the time lol.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Ouch!

I'll be avoiding that car park like the plague after this, it was bad enough without these deadly speed bumps lol. The problem is our office car park has very limited spaces, so if you don't get in before 8am you usually end up in this car park, which we get in for free but as you can see it's pretty shocking.

You can see another speed bump which is in pieces, I always worry I'll catch the edge of a wheel on it

Those bumps are arranged incorrectly for a start.

They should be in one straight line not staggered like that.

You have to watch them as if they get jammed with dirt the claws don't retract properly.

Some rotten beggar could also turn them around on you which would be like hitting a very high kerb.

It may also be that those bumps are illegal. Needs looking into.

Thanks for the comments guys, I thought they might not be set up right.

I just found out that we have our own private area in the car park which I could have used yesterday, which would have avoided the speed bumps :iim:

Your braver than me, I'd have crawled up to them.

I thought I did lol, I went over it as slowly as I could. You could see once my bumper scraped over the first part I bottled it a bit, but knew I had to keep going forwards :S
