How To Tell If Mk1 Or Mk2 For Wiper Linkage

This might seem like the stupidest question but I have a 2005 Focus Diesel Hatchback - 1.8 TDCi Zetec 5dr and need a new wiper linkage. I bought a MK2 one off ebay but the bolts are too thick? Does this mean it is a MK1? It was first registered in May 2005.

    If it looks like the MK1, but is from 2005 it will technically be a MK1.5, as it is the facelifted MK1.

    However most mechanical components stay the same, wipers will almost certainly be the same between MK1 and MK1.5.

    That Mk1 is actually a Mk1.5. The Mk1 has single headlamps and the indicators in the bumper. Otherwise the two are broadly identical.
