Hi guys

I've installed a new bluetooth-enabled Pioneer head unit to my MK2.5 Focus. It comes with a wired microphone.

Without hacking and sawing through my dashboard, is there a simple way to wire the mic to a convenient location? Could anyone shed some light on how I can go about achieving this?

There's a rubber strip between the dash and window you could feed it through there from driver footwell then up the inside of the pillar or extend the wire if need be run it down from the stereo under the driver carpet and up to the dash or pillar IDE say the pillars the better location

What head unit do you have? I have a pioneer head unit with mic, I've put mine on the a pillar just in front of me, I placed the mic first then fed the rest of the wire down through some holes in the panels.

I've got a DEH-X5600BT, the mic I have looks identical to the one you have. Could you please explain a bit more as to how exactly it goes from that pillar to the back of the head unit? Sorry if this question sounds noobish, but I've only had the car for six days and not had a lot of time to explore behind the scenes.

Mines in the same place.

If you feed the wire between the plastic door pillar and rubber seal, then behind the dash. Couple of small cable ties behind the dash to stop it dropping down. You don't need to remove the door pillar, it will just push in. :)

As I'm a clumsy oaf I'd end up ripping my mic off where you guys have placed yours on the pillar.

I went glovebox out, behind the pillar trim, tucked into the roof trim and fixed to the top of the windscreen. I don't have dash cams etc as some of you might.

I've got the fhx700bt pioneer model.

As jc600 said but I pulled the door rubber off just so it was tucked in then on my car I have a plastic trim that come off fed the wire through there and fiddled with the some gaps to get to the stereo.

Make sure the stereo is out makes it easier to fed the wire up to the head unit.

You shouldn't have too many problems getting the wire to the head unit.

Ended up with a few grazes and scratches on my hands, but success!
