Interior Spray Paint

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've looked through some other old threads on here, but still haven't found a definitive answer.

I would like to see about spraying the interior plastics in my car in Frozen White (or Vision Blue) from the current silver. My long term aim for the car is for it to be either blue, white or black, though I can't see me doing anything with the silver alloys in the near future!

I've got the relevant tools for removing the plastics, but can the colour change be achieved as simply as sanding down the plastics and then applying multiple layers of my chosen colour afterwards, or am I best doing many other stages as well?

It's the kind of modification I'm not interested in spending a lot of money on (i.e., if I can't do it myself, I just won't bother!), but at the same time, I don't want to put in 48 hours worth of labour just to change the colour of a couple of plastic bits!

All help, advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Whilst colour coding some of my interior, I cleaned the surface, attacked it with a Brillo pad to give it a key. Then I gave it a good few coats of 'direct to plastic' colour & then a few coats of lacquer

Guess you could include a bit of primer too

A coat of plastic primer is recommended so the paint has a flexible base layer to adhere to.

Would this be ok in high gloss black as i want the heater surround in piano black but high gloss finish.
