Help With Radio Code

Featured Replies

Hi, just changed the battery on my '03 focus and cannot get the radio to accept the code on the audio system paperwork. The serial number for the 6000 cd is M191099, and the code is 4634. I have looked on various sites and can't work them out, so If anyone out there can check if these numbers are correct I would be grateful.

Rob

That code matches your radio's serial number so the way i see it, you have one of two possible situations here-

1/ You aren't entering the code correctly.

2/ The radio has been recoded at some point by a dealer due to a lock out.#

If situation 1- are you aware that the code is not direct key entry?

You need to scroll through the numbers using buttons 1 - 4 and then enter with button 5.

e.g-

Press button 1 four times, button 2 six times, button 3 three times and button 4 four times then press button 5 to enter the code.

If that still doesn't work then you will most probably be in situation 2, Ford charge silly money to recode radios so the cheaper/easier option would be to obtain a radio off ebay which will cost you up to £100 depending if you want a single or 6 disc radio (6000 or 6006 version)-

Thanks guys, found the problem, the radio must have been replaced at some time, but the paperwork hadn't been altered. I got a pair of keys and popped the radio out and it had a different serial number, and some kind person had written the code on the label (not very security minded though). Entered the code and it worked first time, sorted.

Thanks again guys.

Ah, the top secret option 3 ;)

Glad you're sorted.
