New Zetec S Owner

Featured Replies

Hi All,

This is actually my first post on here. The first of many contributions I hope!

I have recently bought myself a new Zetec S, 2014. Only 6k on the clock so near enough new! Its the 125ps ecoboost if that matters.

It is great fun already but I wanted to see if anyone has any tips for me. Anything to watch out for with this particular model? Any tips on engine maintenance?

I just want to really know what I am doing with this car so anybody with friendly advice, it is most welcome!

Thanks!

Welcome and enjoy your new zs, I'm sure you will :) there a great car, I loved mine.

Check my project for ideas....

Thanks Nathan

I have been looking at some overlays first of all for the badges. White with red writing is my first addition I think.

A remap is something else I wanted to look into. Maybe a stage one.

Drive it hard, they love it! (Where speed limits allow, of course). The gears might take a little getting used to (they're reaally long) but they're great once you get used to them.

Enjoy! :)

Not sure if it's a common problem but mine hates being driven hard the second it starts (oil pressure warning and no steering haha) so watch out for that!

Lol that doesn't sound quite right! I do wait until my engine is warm first of course :) and I don't go that crazy, 3-4k max it usually :P

I didn't mean I rag it straight away haha.

Say I was in a rush, if I started the car but tried to take off even before the revs settled to an idle that warning light and steering would happen. Just means I can't enter any le mans style drag races :( haha

The car is quick don't get me wrong. I am pleasantly surprised!

I was thinking actually, will remapping be detected when the car is serviced? or will it affect the warranty, if they are able to even tell if its been remapped?
