Help With Wiring Led Strips In Footwell

Featured Replies

Looking to wire an led strips in the foot wells of my 2011 fiesta mk7? Anyone got ideas for it ? Really struggling

you have several options:

1) buy an ignition barrel and wire it into there,

2) wire it into the courtesy light by tapping, or just wrapping the wire around the terminals.

3) wire it in behind the glove box directly to the wiring but you will need scotch lock or positaps.

In my girlfriends 13 fiesta it has the red glow things built into the door and cup holder and I think they stay on when driving lights are on. Might be worth asking someone on here a fiesta about it as reckon there would be a fuse or loom you could attach to for power.

If not jeebowhite has hit the nail on the head with point 2. Easiest way to do it!

you dont want footwell lights on all the time with lights, it can and is distracting and can also cause the police to pull a fine out of the pocket for you!

I may be wrong. Will check when I get home and get some pics. All I remember was being instanly jealous of the cool red glow!

Just nipped into the misses fiesta when she weren't looking and got some pics. Looks like a 501 wedge light for footwell light so you could either take from the feed or on eBay there's some kits with a wedge connector with red and black wires coming out the other end which you would be able to connect your led strip too.

Looked at the red lighting aswel. Doors is just a led slit and the red led light is above the glove box.

Hope that gives you some idea if not let me know. I've used the wedge connector things myself and easy to use.
