Can 2014 Zs Alloys Go Strait On 2012 Fiesta Without Issues Ie Steering Rack Limiter?

Featured Replies

Thinking off buying these alloys but was worried is there any issues as they are 205 40 17 and my wheels are 195 45 16. Cheers

Should be no generation issues, as it is just a facelift, but you will need the rack limiter as they are wider tyres.

You also need to have the car's computer updated with the correct tyre size so that the speedo is correct.

Thanks mate is that a definite about rack limiter as the seller is adament I don't need to have a rack limiter. Cheers

Some people have fitted wider tyres without the limiter, but if you buy them through Ford, or have them factory fitted they come with a rack limiter.

It is to stop the wider wheels fouling the arch liner.

It is up to you, I personally feel Ford have fitted it for a reason, so to avoid any issues, it is a good idea to do the same...

Thanks for ur reply. I might not get them as I don't no anything about fitting a rack limiter. It's just a shame they can't go on without it.

Are steering rack limiter easy to fit? And has any1 put 17s on without a rack limiter all comments and suggestion and personal experiences will be really appreciated as I'm in two minds to buys these. Thanks in advance.

Rack limiter kit cost about £7.50. Never done a fester but normally they are just 2 clamps that clamp onto the outer end of the track rods to limit how far the arms travel into the rack.

Any competent fitter, enthusiaist or gf should be able to do the job, Ask the local tyre shop or Ford dealer. Easy job don't be put off.

No reason not to buy the wheels if that is what you want,
