troy45
I've got a set for mine. One cracked when I tried to fit it so the supplier replaced it, then refitting the set I had to do a small bit of filing on the plastic catches as they weren't locking into place despite the lamp being fully fitted into the mirror. Also had some problems with condensation so drilled small hole in bottom of each lamp as a vent. Was still getting condensation on one side and had to reseal the lens to the body where it had very slightly opened up letting moisture into a section that's blanked off inside hence my original vent hole not helping. All seems ok now :)
b4zz
thats great to know. I take it I just use a hair dryer to split them open then just reseal with some silicon job done. no more condensation .
troy45
I just used an air line at low pressure to confirm where the leak was then just opened the join up enough to get a little bit of silicon sealant in using a small pin. didn't fancy opening up the whole assembly. Tried that with a clear lamp I bought for a possible project and it ended up breaking the lens.
b4zz
ok cheers for the info fella. recived them yesterday so very quick delivery. hopefully give the car a wash some time over the weekend and then will fit the indicators and see if they mist up. if they do will have to try what you have done and then hopefully that will sort them out. sounds silly but presume I could use some clear silicon bathroom sealent to seal them back up? troy45
You could probably use the bathroom sealant, I just used some clear instant gasket I had left over from another job. But that was only for sealing the small section at one end rather than bonding the whole thing together. An aftermarket clear lens I bought in order to dismantle as part of a project was glued together and broke as I tried getting it apart.
