Anyone Got A Rear Tint?

Featured Replies

Quote just in. An extra £118.75 to have the rear windows tinted!!!!

I'll be getting my rear windows tinted to 20% on Thursday. Hope it doesn't affect my already expensive insurance!

What a rip off mate. My insurance said it was fine as long as the tinter wrote a document stating it had been completed to the legal standard.

Tell me about it! That was just a quote though so I need to ring them today and find out the final figure. Let's see what they say.

I have been quoted about £300 + to have the rear door window glass and the rear window fitted with a tint, does anyone know how much actual tinted glass would be for the two rear doors only, including fitting. I am concerned that the tinted skin could be damaged.

Enduser. Have a look online for tinted windows. The rear window will

Be expensive and be expensive to fit. Use a good tint company and they'll give you at least a years warranty for any tints. The tints are fitted to the inside of the glass so can't be damaged from the outside. As for the inside, the edges are hidden so they're not easily caught. Mines been on for 8 month now and still look brand new.

Bear in mind the tints will look darker on dark coloured cars & lighter on light colours as it blends in.

Thanks for that. I am not too fussed about the rear window, primarily I think that tinted windows are a good idea for security reasons then they do look good. The view through the rear window is masked to some extent by the parcel shelf. I reailise that the tint film is fitted on the inside, but i was thinking that for the price I was quoted you could get the glass changed.
