Help Please, Galaxy Fire!

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope this is roughly in the right place. Long story short my friends galaxy caught fire, after a service, and is history now. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone knows if this has happened else where. Trying to figure out what has caused this to happen.

possible cause might be the fuse box in the engine bay, they do have the tendencies to melt a tad.

Oh really? He said smoke came from the dashboard before it caught fire, thats quite helpful cheers.

i assume IT WAS a zetec?petrol or diesel?

hope it didnt cause anyone else damage.

  • Author

It was a diesel, it set his work van on fire to and melted his front door, but no one got hurt.

bejesus.close call from setting his gaff alight then.

hope his insurance is paying out.

  • Author

Very! As with all insurance claims its takin its time, but its gettin sorted at least.

  • 2 weeks later...

That was a diesel? I suspect it was an electrical fire.

  • Author

Yeah "was" looking at it afterwards made it really hard to see where it even started.

Looks to me like it was inside, the bodywork is only lightly damaged and the back end is less damaged than the rest of it. And the rear looks better than the front, but also the front tyres haven't melted yet there's next to nothing left of the inside. That would be my guess perhaps a dash fire.

Hasn't the fire service done a report on the possible cause or where the origin of the fire was?

Comes to something when I read the title 'Galaxy Fire'...and assumed it was some new smart phone...

That's really not good though, hope you manage to find the source and the insurance give a good payout!

good point, i'll have to ask about that.

The insurance is paying out for everything as we speak, which i really thought would take longer!

Bit of T-cut...that'll buff out
