Clunk When Selecting Reverse After Changing Front Spring?

Hi, looking for some advise, since I changed the front o/s spring I get a clunk when selecting reverse, sometimes park on my 2.0 ltr Auto Mondeo 2002, wasn't there before I started, I did have some trouble getting ball joint back in place , however all back together , I also get a little vibration when driving, just to add I can select drive okay with no clunk at all, it's almost like a mounting has gone? Looking for any advise, cheers Ken
