Airbag And Seatbelt Warning After Fitting New Belts?

Featured Replies

I've fitted new seat belt reel and pre-tensioners to both front seats in my crash damaged KA. I was hoping this would clear the seat belt and airbag warning lights when the car was fired up after.

However it didn't so I assume that I need to get it plugged in and have the warning lights cleared? Or can I disconnect the battery to reset the airbag control unit? Just wanted to check with the forum knowledge.

TIA

The rcm needs resetting afrer a deplyment.

Thanks Ian, your a real mine of information.

I take it a battery disconnect wouldn't do this? Is it something only Ford could do or would my local garage be capable? Price estimate?

battery disconnect wont do it, its only a 15 min job connecting diagnostics and resetting rcm, should imagine non ford diagnostics should be able to do the same job

Crash sensor probably needs replacing.
