Hi guys,

First post in here. Im seriously looking at buying one of the Zetec red/black editions, probably more the red one. I had a look in here a few months ago as these were first getting released, and im sure i read somewhere that someone was selling them for 13k brand new ? I cant seem to find the post anywhere now. Can someone point me in the direction of who it was that was doing this deal? Also just any general help and information towards these cars would be greatly appreciated !

I got mine for 10.5k but that's with a privilege discount. Mine worked out at 2000 deposit and 119 a month for 24 months!

I used car wow to get a quote and took it into my local dealer. Told them if they couldn't match it I would go elsewhere. Unsurprisingly they did. Got my red with all but 2 of the available extras for 15k.

Yeap I did exactly the same thing and managed to get it for 14.5K with the Climate, Cruise and Rear Parking Sensors. They were only going to give me £500 off (and for being a previous customer!!) until I turned up later with a quote - so CarWow is definitely worth while even for just getting quotes.

Picking my Red up tomorrow hopefully - exciting stuff :)

To add to my above comment.... I used CARWOW and took the best offer to my local dealer and had them match it and then deduct my privilege discount.

Thanks for getting back to me with these suggestions ! Didn't know anything about this carwow malarky! So i've been going quote crazy on it the last few days. Just out of curiosity what was your privilege discount if you dont mind me asking? Do you work for a Ford partner or something like that? Just wondered if it was something i am entitled to as well.

I think I got 2500-3000 off on to with privilege.It's something I get off my old man. He was a Senior figure at ford for over 40 years which means he and all close family get ridiculous discounts off new cars. Come to think of it I must apologise! As it may not be relevant to you it was a relatively unhelpful original post ! CARWOW is brilliant though and I'm sure there is room for more negotiation at your local dealer. ask the cheapest dealer on CARWOW for a full finance quote and tell them how many miles, how long etc. walk into your local dealership and show them the quote and watch them self destruct as they try to beat it. They will probably match it but further discount may be possible. If price is not negotiable then negotiate options. At the end of the day despite options such as satnav, climate pack and parking sensors being relatively pricey at first glance, the actual cost for them to include it would probably be half of that or more. Another tip would be to go into the dealership in the very last few days of the month. Dealers are desperate to hit targets and there will be more leverage for negotiation!

Yes new from a ford dealer. There is some great offers out there for used black and red's but without the flexibility of some of the finance packages.

That looks a good deal. It comes with climate and rear tint windows, both of which are "options". I paid £13k for mine new, including DAB, climate and auto wipers / lights.. so that looks a fair price for a nearly new one.

Well I picked up my Red edition yesterday. All I can say is "wow". The car looks so much better in the flesh than any of the pictures. The red colour is really bright and the black alloys contrast with it so well.

And it feels so spacious and light inside - I'm currently in a BMW 1 series lease car which feels very claustrophobic inside in comparison. When I started it the first time I thought it failed to start as the engine is very quiet and is so smooth to drive.

Sorry I don't have any piccies but the weather isn't too great (well it is a bank holiday weekend after all!!)

I went through drive the deal. Base price was £12.5k, then I added a few options.

Had mine a week and it's lovely to drive. Just took it out for a drive and managed 52mpg out of it which isn't bad for a car with only 50 miles on the clock!!

I wish I was getting this sort of mpg out of mine. More like 35 ! Then again there wouldn't be much point in getting a warm hatch if you aren't planning on putting you're foot down once in a while (all the time).

Yeah as you say it will be fun every so often to put your foot down. I mainly got this car for my commutes to work which is 25 miles each way - not too bad but I remember when I had a Focus ST, it was like costing £65 a week in fuel and then with the insurance and tax on top it really added up. Where as the cost of the Red Ed is so much cheaper. Yes people say it's only like a grand more for an ST but remember all the other costs on top of that.

Getting higher MPG isn't too difficult depending on your journey and certain techniques - like instead of approaching a roundabout while applying gas and then breaking hard at the end, just take your foot off and let it coast there (in gear obviously) as it uses no fuel and watch the average go up.

Anyone else heard about the fiesta red/black editions coming with extra features? Apparently the ones being released in September are coming with DAB radio as standard and LED headlights. Anyone confirm this or know of any other features?

i didnt get any extras with mine.. Wish i did now 'cause i want DAB radio..

Both DTD and CarWow are brilliant when looking to buy a new car! I did the same when buying my ST in September. Dealer had no idea what was going on but with Priv discount I got them down to 15k for an ST3 with Rear Sensors..

Deals are always there to be had you just hVe to look/haggle hard enough :)
