Hi

Does anyone know if you can change the radio/sat nav in the 2011 tdci Ford Focus?

Not a big lover of the built in sat nav.

If you can change it, how easy is it?

as the head unit does not have the heater controls built into it like on some satnav head units you may be able to simply remove it and fit a standard oval shape head unit such as the sony 6000cd

i think you should have the standard quadlock connection so should be a plug n play job

in theory..

The 6000cd is another model I wouldn't be keen on.

That model looks older than the one I have at present.

Basically I want a new sat nav/radio but looking at the shape of the built in sat nav/radio I don't think there is anyway of changing this :(

Must be something I can do?

looks like you will have to go aftermarket with an eonon or erisin jobbie mate if you want to keep the oval shape.

you can go the double din aftermarket route but would have to get the right fascia and adapter plates to make it fit - you can but the whole kit from many audio shops like bass junkies etc.

If you go for a double din radio rather than an oval one you need the fitting trim and cage etc.

You would also need the relevant patch lead, aerial adaptor and steering remote interface to match whatever aftermarket radio you go for.

Because of the shape of the mouldings inside the dash of the Focus you may well find that any cage supplied with an aftermarket radio is too deep to fit, I'd recommend a shallow cage or one with a V shaped rear to accommodate the mouldings.
