cundall
I have a 54 plate ford fiesta TDCI and it has begun to give me starting up problems in a morning when it is cold. I believe this could be to do with the glow plugs so i have decided to change them myself but i have no idea where they are located. Is this a simple job to do and can some show me where i can locate these please ? Thanks guys.
DieselPig
First expect pain & tears when they snap off! I would check them first before replacement, they look like very thin spark plugs poking out of the cylinder head. Disconnect the power bar and use a multimeter to check the resistance, should be very low almost a short circuit if there is infinite resistance then it is blown. Now the pain starts! Check on YouTube for glow plug replacement videos when they snap off.
iantt
lets hope its a 1.4tdci, seem to fair better than 1.6 on snapping off, still a pain to get to though at the back. get someone to check for dtcs , should trigger one or more dtcs if glow plugs faulty.
