Best Start Off Upgrades For My Fiesta '05 Zetec? (Internally And Externally

Featured Replies

So I've have my fiesta for over a year now and recently had someone drive into the front of it. so i need a new bumper as the other one is cracked, but while i'm at it i'm going to remix the entire car, i currently have no photos to hand but will up load a ton asap.

The car is 3rd hand and has 60,000 miles on the clock.

I have recently changed the air filter as the other one was ruined. I have a sub that needs fitting but it's a passive speaker so i need an 4 ohm 800 watt amp to go with it. any other mods that can be done would be great as i desperately need help!

Thanks,

Jack

P.S. the Car is still in it's factory state so there have been no mods yet.

Hi all here's the photo's i have of the car. As you can see there isn't much done as of yet but i have lots of time to adapt stuff. Especially the speakers that came with the car which i hate!

Mk6 Fiesta can be a good base to build on. Used to love my one.

If your interested I have 2 sets of speakers to replace the stock in door / rear panel as a direct fit.

Get some facelift lights & mirrors fitted

Hi Chris,

How much would you want for the speakers and ave you got any links to the face lift ideas?

I have 2 sets in for sale section.

Fiesta Owners club used to have some good references.

I think headlights straight swap, wing mirrors & rear lights require a little modding on the wiring to fit.

Kieran, your build was the firs build i read fully, it's a really good read sorry to hear about the write off! What sort of stuff would you say is a definite from your experience? I'm mainly looking at the interior aesthetics, so possibly changing to leather seats is an option for me! :)

Thanks! appreciate the positive comments!! at the end of the day having the off allowed me to discover pre-existing structural problems with the car which could have caused fatalities in a more serious accident. It also made mew feel alot more confident with the mk6's as id seen the damage sustained by the (rather large) crash site and the comparavly low amount of serious damage that could have caused harm to the occupants iME! :) ). Also gave me a reason to repeat all my previously messy mods in a tidIER way ;)

If youre mainly interested at interior aesthetics then id suggest looking at either Vinyl wrapping or Hydrodipping your centre console and any other bits you may fancy. Some people are under the illusion that you can only hydrodip a carbon pattern.. WRONG. Take a look at the guys who did all my hydrodipping and the patterns they offer http://radecustoms.com/ .

ST or zetec S seats could be a good mod. If you go for ST150 seats then youll be able to retrofit heated seats too! (providing you have the wiring know how as there is no wiring present or intended whatsoever)

Another thing id suggest is a double DIN headunit. It would make the interior seem a much more modern place to be.

Have a look at these and their equivalents on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=fiesta+mk+6+gaiter&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xfiesta+mk6+gaiter.TRS0&_nkw=fiesta+mk6+gaiter&_sacat=0

I have one for my handbrake, and one on my gearstick. You can also get them for your door handles, seatbelt holders and even the fabric in the door cards.

Genuine carmats! Ive got these; http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta__standard_carpet_mat_set_rhd_f_1314326_c_119.htm

They look great and feel a quality product. they tidy up the interior no end, and the drivers one is fastened down.

I have installed some LEDs in the footwells wired into the roof light. I have used these in the rear http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221657087927?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and these in the front. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hot-Car-12V-5W-COB-84-LED-Chip-Driving-DRL-Daytime-Running-Frog-Light-Lamp-White-/311321752224?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item487c38f2a0

although looking at it now these may have looked better http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18mm-1-5W-Car-Eagle-Eye-LED-Fog-Driving-Light-Screw-Backup-Reverse-DRL-Lamp-/141332056869?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20e80c0b25

Ive also installed a CANBUS compatible LED light in the roof light. If you use a NON CANBUS unit then it will almost always glow very dim. Fine in the day but very off putting at night

Best of luck with the mods!

okay, thank you i'll have a look into them. i've already found lots of old seating kits so it's just a matter of money now!:)

the LEDs are a great idea i'll definitely invest in that.

i originally thought that double din would look better until a friend swayed my thoughts, but i agree with you after having another look.

are they easier to install compared to the single dins?

No real difference in installation time.. if your car still has the two bars going across the radio then you'll have to cut them out but that's a 10minute job if that. 20swconds with a dremel.

Also, consider swapping the SMDs in your switches to a different colour. I have the heated screen switches in blue for sale

If you do end up fitting a double din I have a sweet pioneer you may fancy and assuming the fiesta has the same quadlock connection as the focus I can throw in a complete fitting kit to make all wiring plug n play. Headunit is still brand new and worth over 300 notes itself, fitting kit was an extra 80. I'm looking for 280 for the lot

The principles including that running wiring is a PITA aha ;) well. In the fiesta anyway

Its like watching child birth; phishing cables through cars mate but the feelin is pure euphoric when it peeps out where you want it to go :)
