hey, i'm about to get a 12 plate Grand C-Max and very excited, as this is my first Ford are there any common issues to be aware of or keep an eye out for?

Thanks, Charlie.

Hey John. 1.6 diesel. Also my first diesel.

Avoid short journeys or the D.P.F. will suffer.

Great car to have the only problem i had is a new DPF 2 months ago great on diesel.

Looking forward to getting it tomorrow. My daily commute is about 10 miles round trip. But 50/60mph. Roads. Will that be enough for the dpf?

Maybe . . just, it's all about achieving & sustaining optimum engine operating temperature - hence short journeys aren't good.

That's cool. Like I say this is my first diesel so still working it all out, every second weekend I have to do a good 50/60 mile journey to visit parents so hopefully that'll help the DPF if what I read is correct.

also couple of questions if its ok with you all....

1, Do fords still rust like they used to? I used to see rusty fords everywhere when I was a bit younger.

2, and im not sure which version I have of my car, it said zetec on the dealer site, but on the ford site it said that the zetec only has front electric windows, but on the pictures of mine it clearly shows rear electric windows?

Put the reg or vehicle vin number nto ford Etis website and it wil show you exactly what the car is and what options it does and doesn't have

No, Fords don't rust like they used to in the 60's, 70's, & 80's ! :)

I don't know, I have seen a fair few crispy Kas, Escorts, early Focus, Mondeos, fiestas and so forth! Keep the car clean, give the sills and wheel arches a good blast every now and then and it should remain rust free!
