2009 Fiesta Abs Light

Featured Replies

Hi all. im sure this topic has come up before but after spending many hours on the net looking I cant find anything that helps, I have a 2009 fiesta 1.4 petrol that has the abs light on, ive had it plugged in with the snap on machine and it says "Control module configuration incompatible, no sub codes available" has anyone come across this before and can anyone give me a clue as to what could be the problem? many Thanks

So the abs light just came on while you were driving or have you done any other work on car that may have caused light to come on?

Ah yes, it came to me with a rear wheel bent which turned out to be the rear axle beam and this has been changed so in fact the rear sensors have been unplugged when the work was carried out but ive checked the plugs and all looks ok, of course saying all this I don't know if the light was on before this, im assuming not, Thanks

If the ignition was switched on whilst the sensors were unplugged the car will have logged an error code. Sometimes clears itself, other times has to be done by a garage

No nothing was switched on while unplugged

No wheel bearings have been changed at all?

  • Author

Not sure if the axle change included the rear hubs or if the original ones were used, if the hubs came with the axle then it would also have come with the sensors attached, am I wrong in thinking they are all the same?

There is a difference between ABS and nonABS axles

Just spoken to the guy who changed axle and it came with everything attached and this was what was used, If they are not all the same have I got to change bearings or sensors or both?

  • Author

yes an abs axle inc hubs was used

  • Author

Ok ive had it plugged in and it says all wheel sensors are working ok and still comes up with fault code U2101 "Control module configuration incompatible" Any one know what this means???? Help?? Thanks

Sounds like an abs control module knackered, if you have deleted dts and it cones back up,

needs a network test to see if module responding.

Bit disappointed as the cars only done 30k, can I buy second hand and fit it and will it need coding to the car?
