2013 Titanium X Sync Help

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm new here and need some help an advice :)

I have recently bought a 2013 Fiesta Titanium X Ecoboost (3 door) which I'm really enjoying so far.

It's a big upgrade from my previous 2006 Fiesta Style Climate so I'm still getting used to all the gadgets.

Ford Sync is where I need help I think.

I have paired it with my iPhone 6 and the phonebook has copied across and I can make and receive calls using voice controls if I want, The car receives texts and can read them but it doesn't know who they have come from and when you try to reply it doesn't have a number to reply to, so this is my first question, is there a way to fix this?

I have also gone into the Sync settings menu and there is a 'Install on Sync' option and when you click it it gives you a yes or no option to install, any idea what that is?

I have attached a screen shot of the system info and would really appreciate some help and any tips you have. I have read I may need a software update, if so how do I go about that?

Apologies for all the questions but I'm new and not really sure what I'm doing.

Many thanks in advance.

Sam.

Welcome to the club buddy, I have the pre-facelift model and to be honest I find Ford's connect to complicated, so I just use the Bluetooth and connect to the car once I need to make a phone call or do anything else I just hold the home button on my iphone and talk to Siri through the car, one button and she sorts you out, no reason to go into menu's etc. defeats the point of hands free for me.

I've ford sync pretty good for making and receiving calls and operating my iPod. But one thing I have found is when I get a call most of the time the caller id doesn't show just the number. But if I ring out it shows the caller id. I can't help with the txt message part as on my 13plate St for some reason it won't read a text off my iPhone 6 I have to use Siri to do it which is annoying to say the least. I have no idea what the install on sync does and as far as I'm aware in the UK we have to go to the dealer for a sync software up date. Unlike in the U.S where they can do it off a USB stick getting the software off of fords website.

I've never tried to reply to a text through Sync so can't help there. To be honest whenever I see a text coming in I just press the ignore button. If it's important enough to distract me from driving they they would call. I might see if there's an option to disable the Sync texting altogether lol.

Thanks guys, the texting thing is a gimmick and I won't really use it but if I have features I like them to work correctly.

Same as software, if I know it needs updating I will just want it done :) I might press the install option in the menu and see what it does.
